There are a few names that are synonymous with the world of the paranormal; some who have gone before us and now live on the other side of the veil and some who are alive today and continue the great work of paranormal investigators before them.
First, one has to understand what the paranormal is and contrary to popular opinion driven by ignorant knowledge in the media; A paranormal investigator is not just interested in ghosts and ghouls. Paranormal Investigators research subjects that go beyond the comprehension of ordinary material understanding. They will be interested in phenomena that is unusual such as UFO, Ancient mysteries and so much more than Ghosts. John Zaffis
In the modern day; we have a few well known Paranormal Experts such as John Zaffis, who’s work is renowned throughout the world. John has been involved in some of the most terrifying investigations into hauntings and of course exorcisms of Demonic forces. John is also a prolific author and details many of his experiences in his best-selling books. As the nephew of the famed Ed and Lorraine Warren – John had some pretty big boots to fill, which he has done admirably.

You can’t discuss anything about Paranormal Research or Paranormal Investigators without including Ed and Lorraine, who, in their time were the most experienced paranormal investigators of their time. They were known for many cases that involved Demonic possession, but one, in particular, that was portrayed in a modern day Hollywood film, “The Haunting in Connecticut”. However they were also known for many other cases such as;
- Amityville – Another well known case that hit the big screen in the 70’s
- Demon Murder – In 1981, Arne Johnson was accused of killing his landlord, Alan Bono. Ed and Lorraine Warren was called into the case prior to the killing to deal with an alleged demonic possession of the younger brother of Johnson’s fiancée. The amazing twist here was that Ed and Lorraine also claimed that Johnson was also possessed.  The case was described in the 1983 book The Devil in Connecticut by Gerald Brittle.
- Â Enfield Poltergeist – In 1977, Ed and Lorraine Warren visited a home in Enfield, England that was allegedly haunted by a poltergeist. This case was awarded a lot of media coverage at the time and is considered to be a hoax by many. The case was featured in a 2015 Sky Atlantic series The Enfield Haunting starring Timothy Spall. It will also be the subject of the 2016 sequel to James Wan’s The Conjuring.
Ryan Buell
Ryan was born in Pensylvania and started the Paranormal Research Society when he was only 19 and studying at Penn State University. His investigations became the focus of a top A&E Show. He has since stopped the PRS and is continuing other pursuits in the film making industry.
